Traffic restrictions during May Day parade

A May Day parade organised by the Aberdeen Trades Union Council will be held in the city centre tomorrow [Saturday] morning.

The following traffic restrictions will be in place during the parade:

  • Albyn Place and Alford Place will be closed between Albyn Grove and Union Street from 10.45am until 11.45am;
  • Union Street and Castle Street will be completely closed, and King Street will be shut between Castle Street and the East North Street/West North Street junction from 11.15am until 12.30pm;
  • Back Wynd will also be closed from 11.15 am until 12.30pm, except for access to premises;

The prohibition of right turns from King Street into West North Street; and from Holburn Street into Willowbank Road will be suspended.

The parade will be setting off from Rubislaw Terrace at 11.30am and will reach the Castlegate.
