Free family concert celebrates award winning children’s book

A musical concert of The Bear and Piano children’s book is being held tomorrow - Saturday, 7 January.

Families are invited to the free musical along with their favourite teddy bears at Aberdeen Citadel at 2pm.

The concert will follow the bear’s story as he first discovers the piano with a collection of popular and classical musical extracts drawn from a number of sources.

Part of Aberdeen Art Gallery’s Lunchtime Concert programme, the event will celebrate the much loved story which won the Best illustrated Book category in the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize in 2016.

The concert has been especially created by Roger B. Williams, Margaret Hearne, Margaret Preston and Pandy Arthur.

The Lunchtime Concert Series is now being held in multiple locations around the city during the £30million redevelopment of Cowdray Hall, Aberdeen Art Gallery and Remembrance Hall.
